Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival

I wish I was playing on the big stage but I’ve been invited to play for people as they stream into the park. I also wish Delo Daryaa was joining me!
Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival is on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
Concert Admission
New for 2023! Admission to the Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival is FREE. Tickets will not be required for admission however the event site will have a capacity of 9,000 attendees.
Main Gate – east side of the Shadbolt Centre
- Saturday, August 12, 1 pm to 10 pm
West Gate – south of the Burnaby Art Gallery
- Saturday, August 12, 1 pm to 6 pm
Washrooms
Portable washrooms and hand sanitization stations are available on site.
Food and Beverage
Food vendors will be onsite. Beer and wine service are also available. Please have 2 pieces of valid ID, including 1 photo ID if you wish to purchase alcohol. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Feel free to bring a reusable water bottle for use at our water filling stations. Food is permitted in soft-sided bags not larger than 18” x 12” x 12”. Glass bottles are not permitted on site.

Beer and wine service are available onsite with last call at 8:30 pm. You must be of 19 years of age to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages. Please be prepared to produce 2 pieces of valid ID, including 1 photo ID. There are ATMs on site.
Cameras
Due to artist contracts, professional recording equipment will not be permitted onsite. Drones, video cameras and cameras with detachable lenses are prohibited.
Family area
A family activity area will be set up from 2 to 6pm. Children must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. Alcohol is not permitted in the family area.
Security, first aid, lost and found
Security will be on site, checking bags at both gates for prohibited items. For first aid and medical services, please visit the first aid tent. Lost and found items will be held at the Burnaby Blues & Roots Festival information tent.
Safety
Dress for the weather—bring jackets, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen.
For the safety of all guests, please leave the following at home:
- tents, tarps, wagons or umbrellas
- weapons or anything that could be considered to be an offensive weapon (including knives of any kind)
- frisbees or balls
- animals (working service dogs are permitted)
- flags, signs on sticks or banners
- barbeques or fires
- musical instruments
- laser pointers
- fireworks
- alcohol and drugs
- all smoking and vaping products
